DUBLIN, Calif. – Retailer Ross stores has recalled about 2,300 bistro chairs due to a fall hazard that can occur resulting from the chair frame breaking.

The company has received two reports of the frames breaking. There have been two reports of minor injuries resulting from these incidents.

The company recalled the chairs voluntarily as part of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Fast Trak process. This allows companies that learn of an issue involving one of their products to initiate the recall sooner versus later.

The recall involves the Bronze Hammered bistro chairs, which are 37 inches tall and have a round seat and a heart-shaped backrest. The SKU number 400167187741 is on a tag attached to the chair or on a sticker on the underside of the seat.

The chairs were made by Fujian Anxi Shangqing Hauxing Handicraft Company Ltd. of China and imported by Ross Procurement Inc. of Dublin, Calif. They were sold at Ross stores nationwide between March 2018 and May 2018 for about $25.

The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the chairs immediately and return them to any Ross store for a full refund. Consumers can also contact Ross toll free at 877-455-7677 anytime or online at www.rossstores.com. Information is available under the recalled products and legal notices tab.
